It’s time to start drinking BEER because PETA says it is better than MILK!

Surprised, aren’t you? Who would not, when somebody would say, “hey drinking milk? Dude that’s not healthy. Make a habit of drinking beer.” Imagine a world where you get up to a glass of beer, served with love by your mom, saying “uth beta, le beer pe le”.

I know you are thinking why would this ever happen. But trust me you guys, this can soon become a reality. How? PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), the American animal rights organization, has lately sponsored a billboard, saying, ‘It’s official: Beer is better for you than milk’ that has been posted just a mile away from the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. Ironically, Madison, Wisconsin, is popularly known as America’s Dairyland.

The poster further says about the benefits drinking beer would do to our body. (As if we didn’t know already). This includes, strengthen the bones and increasing lifespan. Not just this, the poster also talks about the harmful effects of milk including some major diseases like obesity, cancer, and diabetes. (Many might not know this).

PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman, stated in a note in a blog post by PETA that ‘alcohol in moderation can be good for you, but there’s no way to consume dairy foods responsibly when they harm our health and cause billions of cows to suffer.‘ The most important thing here to focus on is ‘moderation’.

Daniel Carron from PETA said, “It’s our responsibility to teach the new generation about the dairy industry. We’re in the role of showing this new generation what’s going on behind the scenes in the dairy industry, how that milk comes to get into a glass and all the cruelty that’s associated with it.”

Also, the blog post by PETA entitles that drinking milk causes animal suffering. On a massive scale, the mother cows are separated from their calves which cause distress to both.

According to my point of view, I believe ‘moderation’ is the key. As they say, excess of everything is harmful. All you need to do is, KEEP DRINKING, whatever it might be.
