Journalist Vikram Joshi’s death case: 9 of 10 accused arrested by UP Police

Journalist Vikram Joshi passed away earlier in the morning today, after having been shot by unknown persons on 20th July in the Vijay Nagar area of Ghaziabad UP, 10:30 in the night. The journalist Vikram Joshi was shot in the head in front of his two daughters. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera where one of the daughters can be seen sobbing while Vikram Joshi’s wounded body lay on the road.

UP Police officials informed that 9 of 10 accused have been arrested which also includes the two prime accused – Ravi and Chotu. Senior Superintendent of Police, Ghaziabad, Kalanidhi Naithani said that a weapon has also been seized from their possession. The state government has announced job to the wife of journalist Vikram Joshi along with Rs 10 lakh for the family of the deceased. In an interaction with ANI, Journalist Vikram Joshi’s nephew said that some boys including Kamal-Ud-Din’s son used to eve tease his sister, about which the journalist went to the police to lodge a complaint.

 

Alongside, the station in-charge has been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been initiated after the family of journalist Vikram Joshi alleged police for inaction. Post the death of the journalist, a group of other journalists in the city were seen protesting against the murder of the fellow journalist.
