Virat Kohli, the cricket sensation and the most wanted bachelor of the country turns 27 today. There is no doubt to the fact that Indian cricket is in good hands, cause we have Virat in the squad. Virat, or as he is popularly known as, ‘Cheeku’, has time and over again proved his excellence and cricket skills. Be it smashing the bowlers around the world and becoming a nightmare for them, or be it performing extraordinarily well on the field. Be it his wonderful batting or his commendable fielding, or even his newly witnessed captain ship, he has been applauded and appreciated for all.

If you don’t know let me tell you, Virat has always been passionate and dedicated towards his sport. He first picked up his bat and started swinging it when he was only 3 years old. He played his first Ranji match from the capital Delhi in 2006 and came into limelight by scoring a crucial 90 against Karnataka, despite his father’s death. He was then chosen as the captain of under-19 Indian team for the world cup. And he captained India to victory in 2008.


Within months of winning the Under-19 world cup for India, he debuted his first ODI match against Sri Lanka. He then cemented his position in the Indian squad by in 2009-10 while becoming the fastest Indian to score 1000 ODI runs. He played every match in 2011 World Cup from India, where the country lifted the prestigious trophy after long 28 years.

At just an age of 23 in 2012, he was titled as the ICC ODI cricketer of the year. During a match in the beautiful pink city Jaipur, playing against Australia, he scored the fastest 100 in just 52 balls. He was soon appointed as the Indian Test captain as soon as Dhoni announced his Test retirement in 2014 and is proving out to be great captain by leading India to number #1 in Test ranking.


Kohli has been the fastest in the World to reach 7500 ODI runs, 25 ODI centuries, and 1000 T20 runs. Kohli is the only batsman in the world to have an average of above 50 in T20 internationals. He is proving out to be one of the greats of the game.

He is the owner of ‘FC Goa’ in the Indian Super league and says, “If you believe in something, you have to put your 100% commitment to it, and I decided to do it because I want football to grow in India.Cricket is not going to last forever so, whenever I am done, whenever I retire, I am keeping all my options open. It is something that excited me a lot and I tried to go ahead with it.”

Despite of the all linkup and breakup rumors and stories about ViratKohli and Anushka Sharma, Kohli has always remained calm and compased. He was often seen catching up with the actress. Lately he showed a gesture of his love towards the actress by liking her video on Facebook, in which the actress was seen singing a famous track from her recent movie ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ to her pet dog.
